Trading Cards

I enjoy collecting various Beatles-related items, so I thought I would share large scans of a few trading cards from my collection. (Click photos to enlarge.)

The first set of Beatles trading cards are termed "Series One" and consisted of numbers 1 through 60. I'm missing 11 cards from this set. In "Series Two," (61 - 115) I'm missing 25, and the most complete set I have is from "Series Three"--I'm only missing five out of numbers 116 - 165. I have a few Color Cards, Diary Cards, and A Hard Days Night cards as well. From more recent years, I have a complete set of the 1993 River series, and a few of another set released around that same time period. I also love to collect Beatles books (I'm up to 141 now) and Beatles magazines from any time period.

If you'd like, please comment on some items from your own collections!

Trading Cards! I didnt realize there were Beatles trading cards. That's insane.

It's amazing in a way - the way they were marketed the same way boy bands of the 90s were marketed really.

That they went from that - to what they became is so remarkable. Although, they were never the way they were marketed, anyway of course.

I used to have a set that had a picture on the front and a picture on the back. If you put several together, the back picture formed a large face of each of the four Beatles. I had a complete set of all four faces. Does anyone remember these trading cards?

I love Beatles trading cards! I had many of them, back in the day, but never knew what happened to them (don't we all have stories like that?)!! One of the neatest items I have: a Beatles Magazine from 1964 published by Highlight Publications & PYX Productions in London. This magazine has many b&w and color pics, and it's obvious that its purpose was to introduce America to The Beatles. There are good bios on all four Beatles. Now, for the neatest feature of all: inside the front cover, it has stamped in red ink: WKDA "Good Guys" 1240 On Your Dial! This is cool because WKDA was THE rock n roll station in Nashville back during the Beatles hey-day!!
I enjoy your blog!!
